Day - 01
Airport > Negombo (Waikkal)

Day - 02
Negombo > Pinnawala > Sigiriya

  • Drive : About 4 hours

Early morning visit “Lellama” in Negombo ideally by 5.00am to witness the action that takes place within the peak hours, fishermen busy with their daily catch. After breakfast at the hotel transfer to Sigiriya, en-route stop at Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage for the daily bathing and feeding session in the morning by 9.00am.
Stop at Dambulla, for a quick visit to the Dambulla Rock Cave temples; that consists of five different caves dedicated for many Gods and Goddesses. The cave is said to be one of the only remaining cave temples in the Island and has identical painting on the cave walls and ceiling that are identical to the Ajanta Caves of India.
Overnight stay in Sigiriya.

Sigiriya > Polonnaruwa > Minneriya > Sigiriya

After breakfast at the hotel enjoy a visit to Polonnaruwa, the second kingdom of Sri Lanka. Explore the better kept ruins of Polonnaruwa, and not forgetting to capture the best of Polonnaruwa at Gal Vihara Temple where you get to see three magnificently carved Buddha statues out of one massive rock phase.
In the evening enjoy a safari at Minneriya or Kaudulla National Park. Overnight stay at the resort.

Day - 04
Sigiriya

After breakfast leave for Sigiriya. Photograph the Rock from the Car Park of the Rest House, from the bund of the lake with the shadow in the water, or from the inner wall from the western entrance and/or from the rock garden. There are many caves, some with remains of paintings, the frescoes of beautiful ladies in a pocket, which can be photographed easily in the afternoon (Please note that no flash photography is allowed at the pocket where the Frescoes are.); See the Mirror Wall that shines even today and more than 700 Graffiti written on the wall, Lion’s paws with the stairs built inside the body and the remains of the Royal Palace with large Water Tanks on the summit. Overnight stay at the resort.

Day - 05
Sigiriya > Kandy

After breakfast at the hotel enjoy a visit to a local village where you will get to experience a Bullock Cart ride through the villages, where you will meet a local family and enjoy a Sri Lankan meal, ideal lifestyle photography, where you get to experience the local lifestyles of Sri Lanka.
Leave to Kandy; Visit a Spice Garden, Alu-Vihara Buddhist Temple and a Batik Factory on the way. You could photograph different types spice trees, plants & creepers, method of making Ola-leaf books and the method of writing on them and the entire process of making batik cloths / garments at the above locations. Overnight stay in Kandy.

Day - 06
Kandy > Nuwara Eliya

  • Drive : About 3 hours

After breakfast visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic after photographing from the garden in front, the Audience Hall, the Royal Palace (remains) from the road in front and the Sacred Tooth Relic proper, in the central courtyard, the Island in the lake and the bathing pavilion and any other places of interest. Take the Upper Lake drive for city views, Kandy Market for fruits, vegetable and people.
Leave for Nuwara Eliya via Gampola and Ramboda, on the way will be passing Tea plantations, factories, Tea Pluckers (Tell your Guide to speak to the Kangani and arrange few Pluckers for photographing the plucking of “two leaves & the bud” and for a close up as well, for which you have to pay everybody.) and waterfalls.
Stop at a Tea Factory to see and photograph the processing of tea. See Ramboda Falls (329 feet high) on the way, at Ramboda you will find 10 hair-pin bends and at a suitable location you can photograph 3 or 4 such bends and the road snaking up the hill with the plains below at a distance. At Nuwara Eliya see the houses similar to houses & mansions in England, same type of flowers and vegetables and walk in the Victoria Park & the Market where you can see local fruits, vegetables and flowers kept for sale. Overnight in Nuwara Eliya

Day - 07
Nuwara Eliya > Ella

  • Drive : About 2 ½ hours train ride

Its open undulating terrain made it famous for elephants for many years, but recently the park has also received much fame through publicity by National Geographic and the Discovery TV channels, which focused on a leopard research/conservation and identification project. Claims have subsequently been made that Yala National Park has the world’s highest concentration of leopard per square kilometer. Vegetation is primarily grassland and shrub jungle with patches of dense growth while several salt and fresh water lagoons are a haven for a large variety of resident and migrant birds.
