Wilpattu National Park

Being the largest National Park in Sri Lanka, Wilpattu National Park serves the highest density of Leopards in Sri Lanka. Providing unique sceneries such as elephants bathing in “Villus”, Wilpattu National Park was named after the Villus that created a breath taking view of the water bodies that governed the National Park dispersed across the landscape giving birth to a range of flora and fauna that provides the mammals a habitat to grow and expand.

Wilpattu National Park guarantees better and rare sightings of Leopards and mammals due to less number of jeeps entering the park. Wilpattu National Park hosts a variety of endemic birds including Ceylong Junglefowl, Brown – capped Babbler, Ceylon Woodshrike and Black capped Bulbul in riverine habitats. Early morning safari from 6:00am to 9:00am is ideal to spot the best of wild life of Wilpattu National Park.
